ALONG THE BANKS OF VIENTIANE LAOS

I was just done taking pictures of the Australian Embassy or, better yet, its swimming pool. I was walking on a riverbank when, on the opposite side, i saw these kids playing in the fiery sunset. Behind, the Mekong river, the natural border between Thailand and Laos.

This is a rare one, among the pictures i took when travelling abroad, because here i’ve interacted with the subject in order to make them do as i wanted them to. I’ve started to play with them with the sole purpose to have the solar disk behind them thus creating a silhouette.

This one was shot in December 1997, if i remember correctly. Film used: Fujchrome Provia 100. The camera is a Nikon D90 or 90x with a 180mm f 2,8 lens.
